ABSTRACT

Urinary tract infection is also a condition related to the lower urinary tract and is useful in cleaning the system. As the urinary system consists of two kidneys, two ureters, a urethra, and a bladder which helps in removing waste in the form of urine which is important for filtering waste from the bloodstream. Due to its function, it is at risk of developing different kinds of infection including the Klebsiella UTI which is the second most common Urinary Tract Infection. Today, through this article we are going to discuss Klebsiella Urinary tract infection in detail and its treatment through Ayurvedic medicine.

INTRODUCTION

Urinary tract infection is very commonly seen in women due to the length of the urethra as they are shorter as compared to men. According to some studies, it is proven that 3% of women around the age of 20 suffer from urinary tract infections and 50% of them suffer from infections after the age of 20 or during their adult life.  In males the Klebsiella Urinary tract is very uncommon, however, they can suffer from it after the age of 60 years. In daily life, the E.coli is ingested or derived from the fecal reservoir, staphylococcus or streptococcus epidermis. Klebsiella is one of the reasons for infection in the hospital but still, E.coli is considered more.


SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF KLEBSIELLA UTI

HERE ARE SOME COMMON SYMPTOMS ARE SEEN IN A PATIENT WITH KLEBSIELLA UTI

§  Pain while passing urine (Dysuria)

§  Micturition

§  The sensation of scalding pain in the urethra during micturition.

§  There is always a desire to pass urine even after emptying the bladder. This is caused due to inflammation of the bladder walls

§  Fever with weakness

§  Blood while passing urine

§  The unusual color of the urine and it becomes foamy

§  Unpleasant odor from the urine

§  Presence of pus cells in the urine

CAUSES OF KLEBSIELLA UTI

Klebsiella is a bacteria and is responsible for causing bacterial infection in the urinary tract which causes pain. Klebsiella is one of the most common infections after E.coli and other most common cause is

§  Heavy exercise

§  Excessive intake of Alcohol

§  Stopping the urge to urinate for a longer time

§  External trauma to the urinary tract

§  Chronic Indigestion

INVESTIGATIONS FOR KLEBSIELLA UTI

§  Microscopic examination of urine for WBC, RBC, and casts.

§  Quantitative culture of the micturating cystourethrography

§  Urine test for protein, glucose, and blood.

§  ESR and blood culture for WBC

§  Rectal examination in males for prostate enlargement

§  Pelvic examination for a female who has a recurrent infection.

TREATMENT OF KLEBSIELLA UTI

The Allopath will treat Klebsiella UTI infection the same as the normal urinary tract infection along with some changes in the ranges of the antibiotics and also cause of the infection. They will prescribe some antibiotics or antipyretic drugs which will only reduce the symptoms but will not remove the cause of the disease.
